Privacy Policy — VastraIQ

No account, no central database

VastraIQ does not require sign-up and has no login. On first launch, the app generates a random identifier that stays on your device and is never transmitted anywhere. There is no way for us to link your usage to your name, email, or any other personal identity, because we never collect one.

What the app processes, and why

Clothing photos. When you add an item, its photo is sent to our AI processing partner (Google, via the Gemini API / Vertex AI) to recognize attributes (category, color, material, etc.) and generate a clean studio-style photo. The result is saved only on your device.
Avatar photo. A full-body photo you provide is sent for the same kind of AI processing, to produce an avatar used for outfit previews. Saved only on your device.
Outfit try-on previews. When you preview an outfit "on you," your avatar image and the outfit's item photos are sent for AI compositing. The result is saved only on your device (and only if you choose to keep or share it).
Location (optional). If you enable weather-aware suggestions, your approximate location is used to fetch current weather from a free weather service (Open-Meteo) and is not stored or associated with anything else.

In every case above, photos are sent solely to generate the specific result you asked for. Our AI processing partner does not retain the images after the request completes. We do not operate our own servers that store your photos — there is nowhere for them to live except your device.

What we don't do

No analytics SDKs, no crash-reporting SDKs that phone home with personal data, no advertising SDKs
No selling, renting, or sharing your data with third parties for marketing
No tracking across other apps or websites
No server-side history of what you've added, worn, or generated

Your data stays under your control

Everything VastraIQ stores lives in the app's local storage on your device: wardrobe items, outfits, your avatar, wear history, and preferences.

Export: you can export a complete backup as a ZIP file at any time, from Profile → Privacy & Data.
Delete: you can clear individual categories of data, or everything, at any time from the app's Danger Zone. These deletions are immediate, local, and irreversible.
Uninstall: removing the app deletes all of its local data from your device.

Third-party services we use

Google (Gemini API / Vertex AI) — processes photos to return recognition results and generated images, as described above.
Open-Meteo — a free, no-account weather API used only if you enable weather-aware outfit suggestions.

These providers process data under their own terms as our processors for the specific request being made; we do not control or have visibility into their infrastructure beyond the API response we receive.

Children's privacy

VastraIQ is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Since the app collects no account information from anyone, there is no personal profile of any user, child or adult, to speak of.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Since the app doesn't collect contact information from you, we're not able to notify you directly — check back here if you'd like to review the current version.
